Back in the day I avoided using spaces in my file names for Mac folks until you all figured out how to fix it, so it would be nice if you could return the favor. If anyone who has any pull at Apple is reading this, it would be really great if you would just prevent your users from using invalid characters in file names to begin with and then this wouldn't be an issue. Super easy and foolproof in case I forget not to put an emoji in my file name (who does that by the way?!). What did work (for file and folder names with illegal characters).

For instance, if I try to type a "?" in my file name, a little window pops up to tell me I can't do it and I have to type in something different. With OneDrive being so new for Mac users I can see how many will have this issue.

That way we could either do it later or send it to the Mac folks for them to fix on their local machines b) open the new tab to the containing folder since you can't rename a file from itself c) fix your "Bad File Check" tool, which apparently could have helped with this but has been offline for over a year, or d) (BEST OPTION) just give users an error if they try to save a file with an invalid character to a DB folder instead of allowing them to do it and then preventing it from being downloaded elsewhere.

Any character other than a colon can be used in the name, but additional characters and names may be handled differently if you are interacting with the UNIX shell in the script.

It would be great if DB would a) allow a user to save/print the list of invalid filenames and show the full paths in the list. (664,492 points) 5:30 PM in response to Occu-Med. Then you have to navigate back to the containing folder, wait for that to load, then click on rename, wait for that to open, rename the file, and wait for it to update. It takes so long to fix using the DB app (which is the only place I can view any sync errors since I can't find a way to do it via the website) by clicking on each individual file since it opens the file/folder instead of the containing folder in a new internet window or tab, which you have to wait for to load. Question mark and colon are used for wildcard pattern matching when searching or specifying files. There's no way for me to fix the files on my hard drive since they're not ON my hard drive. Indicates that an attempt was made to assign protection to a file system file or directory and one of the SIDs in the security descriptor could not be translated into a GUID that could be stored by the file system. I have 300+ files that won't sync with my machine and, presumably, the other Windows machines.

They are constantly uploading files with invalid characters in the file names despite repeated pleas for them not to do this and it drives me crazy. I use a Windows machine and most of my co-workers use Macs.
